The Port Police Building is still under way.

POLA High School fills the gap between the POLA and Police. It is in its 4th year of giving local students an alternative to local public and private schools. With San Pedro High School’s fate in the balance, many up and coming middle school students are looking for the stability that POLAHS might offer them.
I’ve already posted a picture of the front of the building back in early November, so I want to quickly address this wheel chair ramp that they have on the 5th Street side of the building.

Really, Port of Los Angeles, AKA “America’s Port”, REALLY?! I’m sure this is only a ‘for-show/compliance’ ramp and that there is a better handicap accessible way into the building, but come on! Who do you think is going to be pushing themselves up this ramp at this grade of an incline? I think that even the burliest of weight lifters would need a spotter for this fete. Its so ridiculous that its hilarious. Even if it was just for going down, you would launch these poor wheeled suckers straight into 5th and Palos Verdes. They probably couldn’t gain control til they were about to slam into a car in the Grinder parking lot. Thanks for the laugh you yukksters!
