Bynner and Western is known in town for being one of the most dangerous intersections. Recently a group of citizens from this area came to the neighborhood council to enlist the support of the panel in stopping a cell tower to be attached to a utility pole. Not only would the cell tower be an eye sore and noisy, but it would also run the risk of getting knocked down over the intersection should a car hit it. The intersection has such a high risk of an accident, that such a thing could be a reality. So a lot of the residents in this area are banding together with the Neighborhood Council to get the cell tower moved to another location.
Thursday, October 29th, at 6:30 pm, the three San Pedro Neighborhood Council Land Use Planning Committees will jointly meet to discuss a new City of Los Angeles sidewalk ordinance and the City’s new bicycle plan in Room 452 of the San Pedro Municipal Building at 638 S. Beacon Street, San Pedro. All interested stakeholders are encouraged to attend.
The sidewalk ordinance would make all homeowners responsible for repairing the sidewalk in front of their homes when the trees buckle or damage it…but not be able to make decisions as to the plants that are causing the problem.
